When Nina and Dom chose Halle St Peters for their wedding, they were drawn to its unique blend of Manchester heritage and contemporary elegance. Nestled in the heart of Ancoats, one of Manchester’s most characterful neighbourhoods, the former church offered the perfect setting for a celebration that felt both sophisticated and deeply personal.

As a Manchester wedding florist, designing for a venue like Halle St Peters is always a dream. Its soaring domed ceiling, stained-glass windows and historic architecture create a breathtaking backdrop, allowing floral design to become part of the building’s story rather than compete with it.

Contemporary Wedding Flowers Inspired by the Architecture

The floral concept was centred around contrast; soft against structured, romantic against architectural.

We designed a pair of statement ceremony plinth arrangements to frame the couple as they exchanged vows beneath the impressive dome of Halle St Peters. Cloud-like hydrangeas in blush, ivory and soft green tones created volume and softness, whilst sculptural anthuriums, burgundy cymbidium orchids and elegant calla lilies introduced movement and a contemporary edge.

The design intentionally echoed the scale and grandeur of the venue. Rather than filling the space with flowers, we created impactful focal points that allowed the architecture to breathe while drawing attention to the ceremony itself.

A Modern Bridal Bouquet

Nina’s bouquet reflected the wider floral story of the day; feminine yet modern, romantic yet refined.

Layered pink blooms brought softness and texture against her sleek silhouette, while sculptural floral elements introduced an editorial feel that perfectly complemented the fashion-forward styling of the day. The result felt timeless whilst remaining unmistakably contemporary.

Ancoats: The Perfect Backdrop for Wedding Photography

One of the joys of a wedding at Halle St Peters is stepping outside into the historic streets of Ancoats. Surrounded by Victorian warehouses, cobbled roads and industrial architecture, Nina and Dom’s portraits captured a side of Manchester that feels both cinematic and authentic

Against the warm red brick surroundings, the soft floral palette felt even more striking, creating beautiful visual contrast throughout the couple’s photographs.
